Do You Love Christmas in July Ideas?

Have you been following all of the Christmas in July ideas that I have seen everywhere this week?

I love Christmas–but, with 100 degree weather it’s been difficult for me to think warm, cozy Christmas decor and preparation.

Like many of you…I have fallen down the Christmas in July black hole!

I mean, when you see the BEST ideas for gifts, gift wrap or DIY Christmas decorations—I get sucked in.

Last year I shared a Blue and White Christmas post which helped me to move those Christmas boxes around in the closet and get more organized which was a win by the time Christmas rolled around.

Do you remember my Christmas pinecone trees?

Perhaps now is a great time to make more for Christmas.

If you love craft projects, this might be the perfect time of year to give them a try. Days when painting can dry outside, or indoor projects are done with less of a frantic rush to meet deadlines.

Does that happen to you?

There will be no Christmas in July party here…BUT…it has truly gotten me in the mood to make more “heart gifts” and begin my list to be creative for those I want to “gift” in December.

Christmas Gift Ideas

  1. Pepper Jelly is being created today in my kitchen. My pepper plants are overflowing so those who always love receiving jars of it for Christmas will be blessed by my efforts today.
  2. Dried herbs gifts for those who love to cook.
  3. Carrot cake jam will be next in gift making. Jars of these are by far the favorite “food” gift I make and give each Christmas. There can never be too much of it. This happens when pears are in season which is happening here soon.
  4. Those door mats are still in the works for some that we didn’t get done last year. Again, making them when ventilation and temperatures are right is the BEST time to make them.
  5. My list of plans for making gifts has begun and there have been things ordered to make some of them. Can’t wait to share some new gift ideas with you all! Stay tuned!
  6. I’m working on an E book for entertaining, too, so if you are interested let me know in the comments!

Christmas is already in retail stores!

I know! Don’t shoot the messenger! I am always amazed when I find holiday decorations and craft items are on shelves months before we need them.

Now, with that in mind, doesn’t it make sense to just begin planning now? Think about what you have and what you want to add to your decorations while they are in stock.

Kim at Cottage in the Mitten shared the most wonderful Christmas ideas on her blog this week that got my wheels turning. You will want to check it out for all the BEST inspiration!

Christmas Placemats

These placemats are on my list to create now so they will be ready for Christmas dinner. You can use different lines from Christmas songs on each placemat. Oh, the possibilities!

Leslie from My Hundred Year Old Home designed these and I am in love with them! If you really want to get a head start on gifts, I’m sure someone on your gift list would love to receive these!

Just a few more Christmas in July ideas:

Are you now in the mood to get ready for Christmas in July?!!

Wouldn’t it be great if we took all of these Christmas ideas in July to make Christmas in December less stressful?

I don’t know about you, but having things ready now to enjoy the season when it arrives definitely sounds like the perfect plan!

Perhaps you will think so, too.

Please share any Christmas planning and ideas with me in the comments! I always love hearing from you!

P.S. There are 148 days until Christmas!

Yes, I have been enjoying Christmas in July planning. Only a few things on my list so far because I am a list maker; looking at recipes for a different Christmas family dinner, a few new decorating ideas & making sure I have plenty of Christmas scents in my home (hand soaps, diffusers & candles).
