Cute Wrapping Paper Gift Tags
This weekend we had a family birthday celebration. A great niece turned 9. I love creating cards, but a cute wrapping paper caused a light bulb moment to create a cute gift tag instead.
If you know me, you know that creative gifting is something I love. Lots of handmade items, from bowl cozies, door mats and heart gifts are always in the works.
But, even gift wrap is a fun part. Are you that way, too?
Do you love gift tags?
I’m embarrassed to tell you the size of the box that has wonderful Christmas gift tags in them. Some hand created, others are basic, and then there are the creative ones that made their way home with me.
But, creating a gift tag from gift wrap was where I began today.
Isn’t this the cutest birthday wrapping paper? The littles in my life LOVE dogs and this fit their personalities perfectly.
Out came the gift box, filled with tissue and her gift, and the wrapping began.
Lots of ribbon always make gifts fun, so I tend to go over the top with the colors and sizes. This one? Why not make it a more “spikey” version cutting the ends.
Looking for a birthday card in my stash, brought me to nothing that was “Jude” worthy.
That’s when the idea struck.
Why not cut out one of these cute dogs…attach him to card stock…hole punch the top and add to the gift.
A sentiment on the back and the gift was ready.
Here’s my cute DIY gift tag version:
DIY Gift Tags
Materials
- 1 piece wrapping paper, with cute images that can be cut out
- 1 single hole punch
- 1 piece adhesive tape or glue stick
- 1 piece card stock
- 1 6" length curling ribbon to attach gift tag to gift
Instructions
- Find a favorite image from the gift wrap and cut out the design.
- Cut a piece of card stock that provides a frame around the image for a gift tag. Make sure it fits the image. Hole punch the center of the top.
- Glue the cut image onto the card stock.
- Add ribbon through the hole to attach the gift tag to the gift. Don't forget to add your sentiment to the back.
