Anyone Need a New Pizza Recipe?

Anyone need a new pizza recipe? One that is perfectly savory? and sweet? that works well for a brunch or appetizer? I have the BEST Fig and Prosciutto pizza recipe for you! And it works great in the fall, for holidays, during the winter months, spring or summer gatherings! It just seems to fit whenever you make it.

A favorite. Even if there’s an ingredient that someone says that they aren’t a fan–it still works!

I know with all of the quarantining and challenges we are living in right now, that plans for get togethers are on hold for many. I get it.

We had a trip recently where we had the joy of having our feet under another family member’s table.

It was glorious. Savored. Treasured.

For many reasons. My nephew and niece’s home always brings joy. From those amazing great niece and nephews, to conversations, humor and always great food in a wonderful, warm Tampa, Florida landscape…perfect.

We always share food. And this time, I knew that they would love the Fig & Prosciutto Pizza recipe I brought with me. I knew prosciutto was their favorite. But, who knew I would find a new favorite cast iron piece that I had to add to my kitchen?

But…one of the best parts? Cooking with this great niece! Oh, my goodness! Sooooooo much fun!!

When that cast iron pizza pan was set out for us to use…I thought…I always use a rectangular baking stone and cut this pizza into squares. Helps it go farther. Same size. You get my drift!

But, I was game. So, with this sweet helper assisting, she got that pizza dough out perfectly in that pan. She spread that infused garlic oil across the crust, then the fig preserves and helped add the toppings. Such a big help to create this masterpiece!

You guys! When this pizza came out, holy cow, that crust was perfection! It was served as part of a brunch, and fit in beautifully with all that had been created. A perfect mix of savory and sweet.

With flavors of garlic, fig, prosciutto, rosemary and feta all mixed together!

Yum! They loved the pizza. I loved that pizza pan!

Hopefully, they will occur again soon. For all of us.

In the meantime. Make the pizza.
