A Great Picnic Peach Cobbler
Do you struggle with what to make for dessert for a great picnic? If you have followed me long, you will know that I love a great picnic! A while back I shared some great picnic tips and amidst those photos was a great dessert. A perfect way to make and take a great picnic peach or blackberry cobbler. This is the one that I pictured in my 5 Picnic Tips post.
Transporting things for a picnic has always been my greatest challenge. I solved that in my tips post and I love my cobbler recipe and my method.
Years ago, a dear friend shared her mother’s cobbler recipe with me. Can I tell you that cobbler recipe is still the one that I reach for first? Many years ago I hand wrote that recipe in my cookbook and I would LOVE to know how many cobblers have been made from this one over the decades!
All kinds of fruit cobblers.
Our favorites are peach and blackberry.
While my kids were in, I decided that I would give this recipe a Gluten Free fruit cobbler version. It worked so well that that dish was clean at the end of the meal.
A favorite thing to have happen so that you know your guests have been made happy. Right?
This one is SOOOO easy! Make sure that you give yourself room, calories and WW points if you are indulging!
An occasional splurge to indulge!
- Simply begin with adding 1 C of sugar to 2 C sliced and peeled fresh peaches.
- Next preheat your oven to 325 degrees.
- Add 1 stick of butter to a 2 quart baking dish and melt in the oven.
- Mix together batter ingredients over melted butter–don’t stir!
- Top with fruit on top of batter and again–don’t stir!

I know, right? And this one I made Gluten Free, friend. If you need to make a change for butter, let me know what you use and how it turns out. And jars? a game changer!

Yum Leslie,
Another great recipe that I’m going to try. I’m not a huge peach fan. I know, howcan that be? I’m a berry girl so I will try it with berries. I bet this would be gret in the fall with pears.
Leslie J Watkins
Oh, my goodness! I have never tried pears! My favorite is the blackberry cobbler. Give that a try and I’ll be trying pears. Hope your meandering home was amazing! Miss you already!

Same recipe I have used forever! But putting them into jars for easy transport for a picnic is too cute! Just wish I had saved all those jars when we moved!
Leslie J Watkins
You know they sell those little jars… hahaha! Plus you have the BEST picnic spot! (I love that those little jars of anything help hold me to WW points.)

Leslie,
This looks so yummy! Love the single servings (although I bet it’s tempting to grab two!). 🙂

Thank you, friend! I love the individual serving sizes, too! Just too many ways to love them!

Love that you put them in the little jars. Sounds so good!

That’s my new favorite way to serve dessert at picnics! I can anticipate a number of servings, determine the portion sizes and give everyone an individual serving that others have not handled the spoon–right? Hope you’ll give it a try! Promise it’s our favorite!
