Super Bowl Favorite- Spicy Goldfish Crackers
Do you host a super bowl gathering? or perhaps take a favorite food to someone who is hosting a super bowl party? Either way…this spicy fire Godfish cheese cracker recipe will be your new favorite. I don’t know about you but the playoffs have been turned on here for the past few weeks.
We may not always watch the Super Bowl game or even half time closely…but, the commercials are always a favorite.
Are you like that?
Regardless if you are just watching your favorite movie or TV show, these are a perfect snack to have on hand.
WARNING!
Spicy goldfish crackers can be addictive…
Seriously.
My daughter in love is a fabulous cook. When they come home for the holidays, she always brings tins of the most amazing goodies. From the molasses cookies to now these spicy cheese crackers, we are ALWAYS in heaven with the contents of her tins.
Her recipe included cheez-its crackers and Korean red pepper seasoning which took the flavor to a new level than I could recreate with just red pepper flakes.
When all of those were gone, I had to try a version with red pepper flakes. Not as tasty as the Korean spice ones, we still managed to consume all that were left after they were gone.
But, when you find goldfish on the pantry shelf and this recipe is calling your name?
A NEW fire goldfish cheese cracker recipe is born!
Seriously.
Since the original recipe called for a 13.7 oz. box of Cheez-Its, I simply weighed the goldfish and came up with 8 cups.
The rest of the recipe I kept the same. We love the red pepper flakes, but the Korean ones are our favorite.
I may need an intervention.
Do you have favorite foods that affect you that way, too?
Here’s the recipe!
Spicy Goldfish Crackers
Equipment
- 1 oven
- 1 Mixing bowl
- 1 liquid measuring cup
- 1 set measuring spoons
- 1 Baking sheet with sides
- parchment paper
Ingredients
- 8 C goldfish (or cheez-it) crackers
- 1 pkg Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Mix
- 1/2 C canola oil
- 3-5 t red pepper flakes OR Korean red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 250℉.
- In a large mixing bowl, mix together all ingredients.
- Cover baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Pour even layer of crackers onto parchment paper.
- Bake for 10 minutes and then stir.
- Bake an additional 5-10 minutes, being careful not to over bake or brown.
- Cool and store.
Notes
The perfect mixture of the baked dressing mixture and a bit of spiciness makes this our new savory snack favorite…and we don’t even care for spicy food.
The Korean red pepper flakes have met up to their expectations!
Pray for me that I can balance the amount of these I’m loving!
