How About a New Take on Cranberry Sauce?

Would you love a new take on cranberry sauce? A cranberry orange relish? A new Thanksgiving recipe to add that is quick, simple and amazing? A new bit of inspiration for a Thanksgiving side? Sure, you do!

So much better than the cranberry sauce in can. Right? I know. It brings memories for many of you. I have those in my family, too. But, for me. Not so much! And if that can of cranberry sauce brings you joy, for heaven’s sake! Open that one up. No judgment here!

Perhaps, it’s the holidays. Time for sentimental moments and memories like others I have shared.

A family heirloom is this recipe.

I pulled this recipe card out and was reminded of my aunt sharing this with me. A true gem of a Thanksgiving recipe. No can of cranberry sauce on her table.

She was an excellent cook. Seamstress. Her laughter. Goodness. And this is the first Thanksgiving that her kids and grands will be without her. Hugs and love for them.

I remember making it years ago. But, somehow in the shuffle of cookbooks, and pinterest, and recipe swaps, it was left behind.

Not this year. No mam! I planned for it for this year. And TODAY was the day! It’s not too late for you to try it either.

Notes

Perfect addition for turkey and holidays! I hope you will love it as much as we do!! Thank you, Aunt Wanda, for sharing your life and your table with me.

It really is soooooo simple.

I halved this recipe today because fewer feet will be under my table.

I use my Cusinart food processor that I truly can’t live without. Makes holiday cooking sooo easy. I’m saving you shopping time here to find one that will make your life easier. (affiliate link at no extra cost to you! How fun is that?) I use it for grinding bread for my dressing…making cheese rolls…toppings for casseroles…SOOOO many things!

But…back to the recipe at hand…

You just wash those cranberries. I used digital scales to measure…so easy!

I also used a naval orange because they don’t have the insane amount of seeds that you don’t want to find later in your relish. Add those to the cranberries and pulse to the desired consistency.

Add in the pecans (I used pieces- less expensive and faster to pulse) and sugar and pulse again to mix together.

Feel free to make yours chunkier or smoother. Your choice!

AND STORE!

Boom! You are done.

Cranberry Orange Relish–a wonderful recipe for a new cranberry sauce!

SERIOUSLY! It’s almost as fast as opening that can of cranberry sauce!

I hope that you will give it a try. Pin it on your Pinterest.

Perhaps you will have other Thanksgiving recipes that speak volumes of family, moments and memories.

But most of all, I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving. Even if it’s small and intimate. Ours is so tiny this year…a table may be moved to the family room in front of the fireplace.

Doesn’t that sound the best??

And it all brings me joy! Hope you will find a way to find joy in celebrating and ways to be truly thankful.

Love to you all, friends! Thankful for all of you here.
