Tis the Season For Great Thanksgiving Recipes

The first snow of the season has made my heart happy! Especially when roads were passable and yet a surprise blanket of snow appeared! It has truly put me in the spirit of preparing to make some great Thanksgiving recipes.

With the chill in the air, snow, Christmas Open Houses and music filtering through stores, my heart is leaning in closer to the transformation that takes place inside and outside of our home.

Has cooler weather caused you to think about Thanksgiving or holiday favorite recipes?

Last week before the drop in temperatures and snowfall, it was actually near 80 degrees here.

No one truly believed that we were on the edge of a full on winter blast!

Garden beds continued to be cleared and in the middle of those cleaned beds popped up new zinnia plants and cannas. Can I tell you that’s never happened?

My husband and I have spent the last couple of weeks preparing for winter.

Repainting that sweet white picket fence, cleaning leaves from the yard, painting the garage gutters black, and sealing our stamped sidewalks for winter.

Now with Thanksgiving happening this week, it’s time to finalize all of the great Thanksgiving favorite recipes that will be on the menu.

What Thanksgiving and holiday recipes are you looking forward to?

If you need a great side dish, here are a few for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinners:

First, one of our favorites.

For those who need a little lighter fare and fresh salad added to their menu, here you go.

Next, let’s add in a bit of a savory instead of sweet version of sweet potatoes. A great compliment to the turkey and dressing with this recipe.

More Thanksgiving recipe favorites will fill the table.

My husband will grill the turkey.

Homemade rolls or that braided bread, deviled eggs and perhaps a corn dish will be added to the menu.

Next, will be the decisions for dessert.

Individual fruit cobblers with a bit of whipped cream are always a favorite.

But there will be some who will expect a great pumpkin or pecan pie, served warm with ice cream or whipped cream.

Then there’s the butter pecan cake

or the pumpkin bread served warm with whipped cream that everyone loves.

More Holiday Recipes are being made…

And then there are other recipes to prepare to have on hand when guests arrive:

Recipes shared on this month’s Vue magazine will welcome guests.

What will be on your Thanksgiving or holiday menus?

Hopefully you will have family gathered together with feet under a table–either yours or someone else’s.

Being together to share a great meal–whether potluck, prepared or purchased–is so important.

What traditional favorites will you include?

I’d love to know in the comments!

Still finalizing my menu plans for Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas brunch where family and friends will have their feet under our table.

Happy Thanksgiving, friends!

Can I tell you how very thankful I am that you join me here and read along? If I haven’t told you lately, thank you. You make my heart so very happy.
