The BEST Breakfast Sandwiches
I don’t know about you…but, having a great breakfast when guests are staying makes life better. The recipe today makes the BEST breakfast sandwiches that we love.
This recipe was a hit for Christmas morning brunch. But, truly? New Year’s, weekends or even a treat on weekdays makes this our new favorite.
Planning the menu for guests, brought me to something a bit simple.
Most people LOVE a great croissant..or a breakfast casserole with a bit of cheese and ham, right?
Enter these breakfast sandwiches…
The ease of this recipe means its a quick and easy recipe made the night before with a short baking time the next morning.
Our guests were OVER THE MOON with this one!
So…here’s how easy these are to make…
Croissant Breakfast Sandwiches
Equipment
- 1 oven
- 1 9 x 13 baking dish
- 1 serrated knife
- 1 measuring cups/spoons set
Ingredients
- 6 large croissants
- 6 slices Colby Jack cheese
- 6 slices ham
- 6 large eggs
- 1 C milk or half and half
- 1/2 t onion powder
- 1/2 t garlic powder
- 1/4 t salt
- 1/4 t black pepper
- 1/4 t paprika
- 2 T butter, melted
Instructions
- Grease a 9 x 13" baking dish.
- Slice croissants in half.
- Add one slice of ham and cheese to each croissant.
- NOTE: at this point, determine serving size…either whole croissant or cut each sandwich in half if serving with a brunch buffet.
- Add sandwiches to greased baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl with a pouring spout, whisk together eggs, milk, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper and paprika.
- Pour mixture between sandwiches, avoiding the tops of the croissants as you add mixture to the dish.
- Brush the tops of all of the croissants with melted butter.
- Cover dish and refrigerate for at least an hour or overnight.
- When ready to bake, preheat oven to 375° and bake for about 35-45 minutes or until eggs are no longer runny.
- Cut and serve while hot. Enjoy!
Notes
With guests still coming in and out here for the holidays, they may be added to the menu for New Year’s Day here!
Mine were added to a buffet with bacon, french muffins, fruit, and potato casserole.
But, really, they are a great just with some fresh fruit on the side and a great cup of coffee.
