Sharing Saturday Moments

Happy Saturday friends! Sharing a few favorite Saturday moments today with you…and may I just say thank you for joining me?

Sharing on Saturdays have become one of my favorite ways to share inspiration.

I don’t know about you, but adding moments of beauty, life, creativity, and encouragement are welcome even more now than ever.

Saturday morning reflections on fall…

Has your landscape moved a little faster into fall this year?

As I traveled around my yard this week on my mower, I was taken aback by the “flash drought” that we have experienced here that’s effects are showing up on the trees, lawn and flowers.

Even though we have continually watered, things look DONE. Stressed. Finished with the growing season.

My gorgeous yard ferns are no longer lush and green. There are simply stems where they flourished along the wooded area line where they are planted. Keeping my fingers crossed they come back again next spring.

My zinnias are ending their beauty, salvia not looking the best, and herbs bolting and flowering. Much. Earlier. Than. Usual.

The potted ferns are hanging on, hostas struggling, and the tomatoes are making a final push for summer produce among the raised beds.

Don’t mind me, I’ll be over here harvesting zinnia seeds, chive seeds, AND the first time ever..LETTUCE SEEDS. Wish me luck!

A bit of fall decorating inspiration…

I don’t know about you, but my pillows in the family room need a new color and look to transition for fall. Do you change out pillow covers for the season? I’ll be heading to Home Goods next week to find some great new napkins in colors that speak to me for new fall decorating. Here’s my DIY pillow cover post if you want to join in the fun. This one was for spring…but, I still love this pillow all year round.

Did you catch the Tomato Tart on the blog this week?

Oh, my goodness! Let’s add a crunchy “cheese straw” crust with caramelized tomatoes and garlic that are a bit “jammy” for a delicious addition to brunch or a lunch served with a salad.

Hope you give it a try!

And now for a bit more Saturday moment inspiration this morning…

  • Do you grow sage in your herb garden? You may want to save it for the all the recipes for the holidays…
  • As if Joanna and Chip Gaines Silos weren’t already fabulous…did you know they have removed the plant shop there and replaced it with an Art of Entertaining Shop? Be still my heart. Now added to my Bucket List of places to visit.
  • I’m all for calm, soothing, cozy and peaceful home decor in the fall. Celebrating the bounty of harvest, fall colors and transition of season always bring me joy. The distraction of death and the Halloween vibes don’t make it to my door…give me joy, peace, rest and cozy over all of the other…every. single. time. Even this article agrees with me. Perhaps that’s your heart’s desire for your home, too.
  • This week we had a Toolbox talk at the Extension office about hydrangeas. Loved learning more about propagating the hydrangeas I have to produce more plants for our home. Here’s more about that if you need to have more in your garden.

And more before we leave…

Cool breezes made their way across my screened porch this morning for a bit of quiet time and coffee. I hope that you find moments of quiet, perhaps journaling or reflecting this weekend. So good for your soul.

Thank you so much for following along for this Saturday moment. My heart is always happy when you join and especially when you comment back…

Happy Weekend, friends,
