Sharing Great Ideas for Your Christmas Brunch
Christmas morning always brings family to our home for a Christmas Brunch full of old and new favorites. Some family members may come in pjs and littles’ laughter is a joy!
Here are some recipes that will be sure to please if you are having guests in for Christmas brunch or breakfast.
Lots of these recipes can be prepped or made in advance saving you precious time on Christmas morning.
Create a time plan for your menu just to make sure that you plan in advance for what to do a day or two before and what’s left on Christmas morning.
A plan makes life so much easier and allows you to enjoy the morning even if hosting.
First of all…make a bread selection.
French Muffins
French Muffins are a MUST here for Christmas Brunch.
This is the recipe that spoke about when our family traditions began…it’s with this recipe.
Now, no one would be happy if these were left off the menu. This recipe is made in at least double batches the day before and placed on a cake stand awaiting Christmas morning.
Because so many are made, my kids gave me this pan. It’s the perfect pan to make a double batch at one time! Don’t you love it?
Click on the photo of the pan to shop the affiliate link…at the same cost for you…but will provide a commission for the blog. Thank you in advance if you shop with it!
Now, this recipe is the one added to the plate rack wall because it is the family traditional favorite.
Black forest muffins
If you have chocolate lovers in your group, you can’t beat these Black Forest Muffins…with or without the cherry filling! Here’s the recipe for those.
Bran muffins
If you have made the bran muffin refrigerator mix I shared, these would make a PERFECT muffin to serve on Christmas morning.
Feel free to add a holiday touch with cranberries/craisins and nuts with a bit of cinnamon sugar on top and everyone will love these. Make them in large or mini muffin portion sizes–whatever suits your fancy! The recipe for the bran muffins can be found here! You can make these ahead, too, and warm right before serving.
Another favorite addition is a seasonal bread.
Pumpkin Bread
If my sister is with us, her wonderful pumpkin bread appears. You can find the recipe for it here.
Zucchini Bread
Zucchini bread is offered at times when the pumpkin bread isn’t with us. It’s a favorite, too. You can find the recipe for that one here.
Cinnamon Rolls
If you’d love to become a fan of everyone’s…make these cinnamon rolls.
Make them the day before and then bake and glaze on Christmas morning. Yep! you will be the favorite cook!
Cinnamon Roll Bites
And if you want a quick tiny cinnamon roll…add these cinnamon roll bites to your menu!
Biscuits and a jelly/jam bar have been known to appear.
There have been times when those biscuits found here and a jelly bar complete with the jam I have made is served.
There are NEVER complaints if they are on hand!
Fresh fruit is ALWAYS added.
There are littles in my life who require fresh and seasonal fruit. I am thankful that they are healthy eaters!
Grapes, strawberries, blueberries, and pineapple are always loved. Best part, no cooking needed!
Next, is the Omelet Roll.
Now this recipe you may remember from the Easter Brunch.
But, it’s a great one to include that everyone loves. Omelet roll was first found from the Pampered Chef recipe file. I just make it my own with the type of cheese and ham added.
Here’s the link for the omelet roll recipe here. This recipe you can’t make ahead…but, it’s an easy one and sure to please!
Now, select your favorite breakfast meats.
Bacon is a great addition to your menu.
We prefer Wright’s bacon baked in the oven. You can bake in advance and then warm Christmas morning to save time.
Another tip: Buy bacon ahead and add to your freezer to make sure that you have it on hand without stores running out.
Baked Bacon
Equipment
- 1 baking pan with sides
- oven
- parchment paper
- paper towels
Ingredients
- 1 pkg bacon prefer Wright's bacon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Cover baking sheet with sides with parchment paper.
- Lay slices of bacon out in a single row.
- Place in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or longer until the bacon is crispy and done.
- TIP: TIME may vary depending on the thickness of the bacon and your oven. Be careful to monitor it to make sure it doesn't burn!
- Remove from the oven and place bacon on paper towel covered tray to drain before serving.
- TIP: Can make ahead, store in storage bags in the refrigerator and rewarm to save time on the day of serving.TIP: Also a great idea to have on hand in the refrigerate for salads, sandwiches and recipes.
- Feel free to save the bacon grease for other uses in a jar or separate container if you like.
- The parchment paper provides easier clean up after cooking.
Notes
Sliced Ham is an easy addition to your brunch.
Buy a precooked and sliced ham to make it easier for you and simply warm on Christmas morning.
On to the next menu item…Hash Brown Potato Casserole!
Yep. It matters not if it’s a breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner…if family are gathering for a meal? This Hash Brown Potato Casserole full of cheese and flavor is ALWAYS served.
It’s made and refrigerated the day before and just baked Christmas morning. Allow time to get that pan warmed up and then bake for an hour and a half before serving time.
You can find the recipe for this favorite here.
Christmas Morning Beverages
There’s always coffee, hot cinnamon tea, English tea and orange juice on hand.
Red Hot Cinnamon Apple Juice
But, hot cinnamon apple juice is a favorite. The recipe is made by the gallon and added to the refrigerator and microwaved by the cup when needed. Such a time saver that’s enjoyed by all.
And then there’s the hot cocoa bar.
You can find the recipe for those cute gingerbread houses here that go perfectly with the hot cocoa.
Most importantly…enjoy your Christmas Brunch!
One of the most important gifts to give yourself is selecting menu items that you can do most or all of the prep work ahead so that you can ENJOY time with family and guests and not be overwhelmed.
If table setting is important, set it ahead of time.
Although I love using real dishes and cloth napkins are always a part of my planning, you may choose to use paper plates and napkins to make clean up much easier.
Those party poppers are always a hit..filled with games and crowns and everyone loves.
No judgment here!
Do what’s best for you! Select menu items that your guests will love.
Creating memories with feet under your table is important for you and your guests.
Not stressing out over the menu, preparation or serving it all.
It’s just a casual gathering of favorite foods that allows for ALL of us to be comfortable and welcomed.
Sixteen pairs of feet will be under my table for Christmas Brunch this year.
That’s the BEST gift of all!
Happy Christmas Menu Planning to You!
I’ll be sharing a few more recipes before Christmas…just in case you need a few more ideas!
May this holiday season give you opportunities to create moments and capture memories for everyone.

I’m going to try those muffin recipes! Can I make them ahead and freeze them? Any tips for that?
Leslie J Watkins
The refrigerated muffins would probably freeze well. I never have leftovers to freeze the mini muffins or the black forest…but, it might be worth a try!
