Saturday Sidelines- A Mother’s Day Celebration!

Welcome to Saturday where I sit on the sidelines and enjoy all of the view of everything happening around me! And WHAT a celebration weekend, friends, we have–This weekend we celebrate dance recitals, birthdays, the Kentucky Derby, AND Mother’s Day!

Whew! That’s a lot of celebrations packed into one weekend.

Those great nieces and nephews showcased their dance skills with their Mom coordinating all of their Dance MHT recital pieces last night.

They were AMAZING!

Tonight, we will be watching all of the hats and pageantry of the Kentucky Derby from the sidelines of our family room…we won’t have the traditional Derby hats, Kentucky Derby pie, Hot Browns or mint juleps…but, we will enjoy all the festivities from the comfort of home.

I always love when Lamon Furniture and Antiques brings out their Derby Gala hats to decorate…this is one of the hats that they have showcased. Isn’t it fun?

If you missed this week on the blog, I shared a new book that is perfect for so many gifts that you may have coming up.

Mother’s Day may require a new recipe…

If so, our family favorite hash brown potato casserole may be perfect for a Mother’s Day Brunch or lunch or dinner–even a graduation party, prom gathering, rehearsal dinner or just a great family gathering if those are among your celebrations this week.

If you are still looking for a bit of Mother’s Day menu or gift ideas…here are a few things that inspired me this week.

Happy Mother’s Day!

May your weekend continue to be filled with feet under your table and all of the celebrations that add family, friends, joy, and great food to your life!
