Saturday Sidelines- A Beautiful Week of Gardening!
Welcome to Saturday Sidelines, friends! If you have followed the blog this week you know that it’s been a beautiful week of gardening here. From the Jane Austen Picnic at Feather Stone Farm, perennial gardening, Garden Club tour and container gardening, it was a full week of gardening here.
Wedding Garden Touches
The wedding we went to last Saturday was at Manea Vineyard in a beautiful open lawn surrounded by vineyards.
Inside the beautiful open barn were beautiful arrangements, although silk, were beautifully created with roses and peonies and greenery.
Even the cake table gave a nod to the garden…
On Thursday, I shared my love for the perennial garden and if you missed it, you can read more about it here. I’d love to know what are you other perennial favorites that I need to add into my garden.
If you missed my recipe I normally share on Tuesday, I added one in for you on Friday with an Easy Roasted Dinner that is perfect for summer ease and entertaining.
I had the pleasure of visiting a well known and loved author/landscape architect in April at her home and she was the inspiration for yesterday’s post on Container Gardening. The beauty and resources in her books that I shared are stunning! Hope you don’t miss that one.
Other gardening inspiration this week:
- Did you know you can make your own citronella candles? Can’t wait to try these!
- I love this great way to remove sore muscles with lavender.
- Do you need inspiration for your front porch?
- Potting Bench inspiration has my wheels turning…
- Inspiration for outdoor entertaining with this beautiful shower.
- Citrus in a flower arrangement– how beautiful!
- Lavender meanderings was wonderful…oh, to be there!
Paducah Garden Club Gardening Tour
I was sad I had conflicts and wasn’t able to go…but, look at the beauty that was available for the Paducah Garden Club Gardening Tour of four gardens here this week.
Next week more gardening here!
- Annuals from those left from the greenhouse will be planted.
- Compost spread around all of the garden beds.
- Zinnias will be planted around the volunteer ones already tall from last year’s seeds! A first for everything!
- Hopefully raised beds will be installed and planted–wish us luck!
- AND the deck will be pressure washed today for painting next week.
- THEN finishing touches, container gardening groupings and everything will be in its right place on the deck. Can’t wait.
See what I mean about a beautiful week of gardening??!
It was stunning! Meanwhile I am looking for more gardening events in my area…share with me any you find, won’t you?
Happy Saturday, friends!
May your weekend be filled with a beautiful garden.

Thank you! Soooo much work left to do in the garden. Deck was pressure washed and stripped this morning so hoping to get the deck painted and deck garden back soon…meanwhile an astounding number of perennials and annuals await to be planted and composting set for this week. Gardening is NOT for the faint of heart!
