Saturday Sideline-It’s Spring Inspiration-The Best of the Week!
Good morning, friends! What a wonderful week full of inspiration on the blog. Today, I’m on the sidelines sharing so much from the web this week. I thought you might enjoy seeing what I found, too. From plants, recipes, gifts and events…I have so much spring inspiration to share with you!
This week brought me to sharing a favorite new recipe for Rustic Fruit Cobblers that I hope you love. These were a favorite dessert with a surprise of a hint of orange zest added–the great portion sizes made these perfect. How wonderful will these be when fresh fruit is season?
Yesterday, I shared a DIY Door Mat project perfect for all the gifts in your life. I love personalization and handmade gifts that you know won’t be duplicated. Don’t you?
Spring season brings more opportunities for “gifting” these for Mother’s Day, bridal showers, weddings, Father’s Day, retirements, anniversaries…the list is endless.
Spring Inspiration
These are a few things that inspired me as spring unfolds.
- My Boise crew love truffles added to everything…I may need to add this recipe for the next time they are here.
- Wouldn’t you love to make one of these? It may have to happen soon.
- Are you like me and love thrifting? I always love to follow her ideas. You might like them, too.
- Who knew that I would think that white small appliances could be so beautiful? See what you think about them. You might need to gift a few for Mother’s Day!
Spring Gardening Tips
Everything in my garden is coming to life! I don’t know about you, but it makes my heart so happy. I’ll be sharing more from the garden soon, but until then, here’s a sneak peek.
Peonies from Aunt Helen’s garden required support stakes this week to prevent them from laying on the ground as they bloom.
Herbs are beautiful in their pots on the deck.
And the Hosta buffet garden?
A crystal granules type of deer repellent began to be spread as those hostas began to shoot up.
Now, in the hostas’ size and abundance, the deer repellent spray has begun. Here’s the one we use:
This week Stacy inspired me with her tips on working on a deer resistant garden. If you have problems with that…join her at Bricks and Blooms for this post.
Spring here means that the Dogwood Trail has begun!
In our community there is a dogwood trail through neighborhoods in the city where dogwood trees are lit at night. There are signs posted to take people through the neighborhoods. It’s glorious.
My dogwoods are struggling here…with the temperature not making its mind up whether it’s winter or spring…with a few summer temps mixed in between…has made the blooming of our dogwoods less that stellar this year.
Is that happening to you where you are?
This year our local Dogwood Trail Celebration runs through April 24…
If you live in the Paducah area, follow along to enjoy all of the beauty. For those who live in our community, our home is “off the trail”–but, we still enjoy lighting up the trees.
Here’s a few of the homes that have their azaleas and dogwoods lit this week.
Here’s to more spring inspiration I found this week…
Enjoy!
- Always love Lauren’s decorating tips…a new one inspired me this week.
- These spring tablescape ideas! Be still my heart…
- Love this handwritten jewelry for Mother’s Day.
- Creating these beautiful lemon plates has moved onto my DIY list.
Next week are two of my very favorite events!
American Quilt Society’s International Quilt Show will be here in Paducah! I will be assisting with showcasing the quilts that have been entered into this year’s competition. Over 30,000 usually attend this show from all over the world. Since this is our first time in three years being able to host this event in our community, we are all beyond excited. Stay tuned!
The second event that I can’t wait to attend is Frenchtown Station’s Frenchtown Fete next Saturday… Oh, friends! I wish you could all join me for both!
Thank you for spending your Saturday with me!
Happy weekend, friends!
