An Easy Flower Arrangement DIY
All of my flowers in the landscape and pots are looking so weary this time of year. Before they totally end their season, I needed to gather them together. I know my days are numbered. I typically gather them in a vase, but today, I thought I would share with you the easiest flower arrangement DIY ever.
So simple.
An effective table centerpiece.
A blanket of flowers that showcase the flowers and not the container.
Fast and easy to arrange and be able to see guests across that table which is a basic tablescape rule. Seeing people across that centerpiece is so important for me.
This is why I save those zinnia seeds each year. Planting those zinnia seeds each spring produces the most gorgeous flowers.
There are other flowers and herbs in the garden that need to be added to flower arrangements before they lose their beauty.
How that Flower Arrangement Begins
- Gather your containers…votives and small glass containers is what I selected.
- Fill them with water.
- Snip flowers that you want to add to the table with your garden shears.
- Add to those containers on your table and arrange to your heart’s content.
If you need that in DIY format to save, here you go!
Easy Flower Arrangement DIY
Equipment
- garden shears
- tray to gather flowers
Materials
- Flowers from your garden
- small vases or votives to hold flowers
- water to fill vases
Instructions
- Gather small votives, vases, canning jars and containers for your arrangement.
- Fill them with water and arrange them in a grouping on your table.
- Using your garden shears, cut your flowers with 4-6" stems and remove leaves. Have a tray to lay them on as you cut the flowers and gather.
- Cut stems to the correct length when adding to your vases.
- Arrange to your heart's content.
Notes
Why I love this flower arranging technique?
The beauty of this flower arranging technique is that the flowers give the impression that a carpet of flowers has been laid out on the table.
Those clear vases seem to become transparent and the flowers become the focal point.
AND…last, but not least? That arrangement can be as large or small as you’d like it to be simply by arranging and adding in more tiny holders of flowers.
The table setting doesn’t have to be fancy. I have used a drop cloth for a tablecloth on my screened porch table. Even a mismatch of plates works.
And for a laugh! See what’s wrong with the place settings! It’s the “where’s Waldo” of place settings…The photo was too pretty to leave out…but, a sweet reminder I am never perfect! So focused on those flowers!
None the less–Simple. But, yet elegant. especially with small votives added at night for a bit of candlelight.
I have added both lit votives and jars with battery operated votive candles for a bit of evening glow. Choose which you prefer.
Flower garden flowers make my heart so happy.
Whether gathering seeds, planting, watching them grow or gathering them for an easy flower arrangement, they are worth every moment.
