One of my nieces shared a new roasted red pepper soup with me…and there in the middle of that recipe was a simple mention of grilled cheese croutons. Holy cow! That got my attention. Maybe you have created and enjoyed them before…but here, this was a new one. Now, for many of us a great tomato soup with a grilled cheese happens often. Right? I have even shared a grilled cheese tomato soup recipe with you, too… My husband loves croutons added to soups… Even some homemade or purchased croutons on top of soup…but, today? Grilled cheese croutons! Yes, please. Let’s make some. If you have gluten free needs with those who have their feet under your table? Try using a 12 to 24 hour fermented sour dough that renders it gluten free which is a win. It works with those here and may be helpful for you. And since I am making those grilled cheese croutons, why not share them with you, too? If I am late to the party? Please forgive me. So without further delay…here’s the recipe, friends. Now…some of you may create your grilled cheese using mayo instead of butter to get a great golden grilled cheese. We really like the butter flavor here. Feel free to use mayo if you’d rather. Can’t you just imagine grilled cheese croutons on these? Simply adjust the type of cheese/bread to maximize the flavors. Here are few of my favorite pieces to create and serve those soups or salads with those croutons. If you have created grilled cheese croutons before, you are ahead of the game! Bravo to you!
