Laundry Sorting Tips
Good morning, friends! I don’t know about you…but home tips that are time saving or genius always bring me joy. Do they you, too? Now, if you knew about this laundry sorting tip and didn’t tell me? That means I have been a member of the one sock lost club on so many occasions that I can’t count them all.
Are you a member of the “laundry eats socks club”? Where somewhere between the laundry bin and the dryer one disappears? Well, if so, join the club.
Last week I heard the best idea I have heard in a long time.
Whether you have a family house full to do laundry OR just a few, if you haven’t heard of this one…you are welcome!
The BEST time saving tip for laundry sorting EVER!
Are you ready? Supply each family member with mesh laundry bags that they can identify by colored zipper or an added tag or ribbon. Have each member add dirty laundry to the mesh bags, sorting by color in separate bags.
Time Saving Laundry Tip
Equipment
- 1 mesh laundry bag for each family member you can have a bag for darks and one for lights to separate washing loads if you need them separated.
Instructions
- Use a separate mesh laundry bag for each family member to add their dirty socks, underwear, etc. into before washing.*NOTE: you can have a bag for light and a bag for darks to separate washes.
- Toss mesh laundry bags into the washer and then dryer, keeping each family member's laundry contained in their own bag.*If desired, add a dryer sheet to bags before tossing into the dryer.
- Simply return each family member's mesh laundry bag with clean laundry to each member for putting away.
- A brilliant way to keep socks sorted and back to each individual person.
- Time saving way to keep each family member's laundry, especially socks, sorted and returned back to their storage areas.
Notes
Keeping laundry in bags from dirty to clean keeps them sorted from beginning to end.
No more lost socks.
Everyone retrieves their bag and puts their laundry away. Even preschoolers can handle this one.
Piles of laundry become more manageable.
Need to sort by colors…just buy more bags.
If you use dryer sheets? Just add them into the bag before drying.
GENIUS, right?
Laundry sorting just got easier. From start to finish.
No longer does the WORST part of laundry–at least for me with sorting–have to happen.
You are welcome!

Great idea! But I doubt seriously if they would have done it! My laundry room still eats socks and there are no longer any littles!!! Go figure!
