In Love With Glorious Cinnamon Roll Bites
Do you just need a “bite” of a great cinnamon roll and not the entire roll? If so, you will understand why I am in love with this EASY and glorious new way to create these tiny cinnamon rolls–bite sized bits of heaven!
First of all, I have a tried and true version of yeast cinnamon rolls that was on the foods lab lesson plan and embraced and loved every year. I shared it here if you missed it.
But, there are times when you need something quick when company arrives and time doesn’t allow for all the fuss for yeast dough rising…enter…
Tiny Cinnamon Roll Bites
Glorious.
If you love crescent rolls and cinnamon rolls…then you will be in heaven with this cinnamon roll recipe.
Quick. Easy. Delicious.
Perfect for the holiday season when more sugar is allowed and we all need cinnamon.
And who knew that Pillsbury crescent rolls came in a sheet roll instead of just separate rolls? I was in love when I found that one!
If you are preparing for fall and holiday gatherings, please pin this one to have ready for guests. Your family will thank you, too.
TIny Cinnamon Roll Bites
Equipment
- oven
- Baking Sheet
- knife or thread to slice
- parchment paper
Ingredients
- 1 8 oz Pillsbury refrigerated crescent roll sheet
- 4 T butter, softened
- 1/2 C brown sugar
- 1 t cinnamon
- chopped nuts or raisins, optional
Glaze
- 1 C powdered sugar
- 2 T milk or apple juice more to make glaze consistency
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°.
- Measure out all ingredients.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the Pillsbury crescent roll dough sheet onto a piece of parchment paper, rolling any holes out with a rolling pin to make sure it's a solid sheet.
- Spread layer of softened butter over the dough.
- Combine the brown sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over the butter.
- If you prefer, add raisins or nuts.
- Cut the dough into equal fourths and roll each piece up tightly.
- With a knife, mark each of the four rolls into five equal slices.
- Using a knife or a piece of thread, cut each roll into 5 equal slices.TIP: It's so important that you keep each slice "tight" when you add them to the baking sheet…otherwise they will open up and filling run out!
- Lay the slices cut side down onto the parchment paper lined baking sheet.
- Bake in preheated 375° oven for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown. Be careful to not overcook them which is so easy to do!
GLAZE
- While rolls are baking, combine sugar with either milk or apple juice, stirring well. Feel free to add more to a consistency you desire.
- Drizzle the glaze over the rolls while warm. TIP: I drizzle them while still on the parchment paper to make it easier for clean up.
