My suggestion? I would slice your cake into pieces and add them to your freezer. We have a food saver that we use…but freezer bags parchment paper wrap with as much air removed can work, too. My husband is the one who enjoys the cake in our home, and adding pieces to the freezer to remove and warm a few seconds in the microwave has been a game changer for him. Perfectly warmed cake when you need it. When I have made this cake, it has been shared with a larger group who may consume it all OR more often added extra pieces to the freezer. I hope that helps.

This cake was so good. I did put a lightly sweet cream cheese frosting on it. I followed the recipe and after 10 minutes of cooling it slid right out of the pan. I took it to a family dinner and had no leftovers. It’s a keeper.

Pansy- you are so right! I have meant to update this recipe as the cake mix sizes continue to shrink. In looking up how to resolve this issue, there is a 3 oz. difference in cake mixes now that changes the results. Some people say to make up those lost 3 ounces with cake mix from another box of cake mix OR plain flour. I haven’t tried this yet, but I hope it will help. We just had this cake at a family brunch and it was inhaled. Always so loved!

What is the ounces of the cake mix? The last time I made it. It never got completely done. I think the cake mix is smaller.
