A New Favorite– Sheet Pan Cajun Shrimp
Sheet pan recipes are some of our family favorites. This Cajun Shrimp sheet pan recipe is quick, easy and delicious! With added vegetables to the shrimp and kielbasa, or a chicken sausage here, you will love this one. Great appetites needed for those whose feet are under your table when this one is shared!
Are you a shrimp lover? Although we aren’t always a lover of “spicy” foods here, we all can truly appreciate a great shrimp boil. This recipe boasts great flavor that is loved by everyone.
How about making this Cajun shrimp recipe easier by adding it to the oven?? No pots outside cooking or paper spread out on tables to serve for this one. We love those boils, too; but, what could be easier than a one sheet pan wonder? With the heat still sweltering here, not having to cook outside was a win here.
What makes this Cajun Shrimp recipe a favorite?
One dish.
Easy prep. Easy clean up.
Delicious results.
Begin with cutting up potatoes and seasoning with olive oil, salt and pepper. Add to a parchment covered sheet pan with sides.
Place into a 425 degree preheated oven for 25 minutes.
Next, cut up corn…we use fresh when in season, but frozen coblets work well, too.
Next, cut tops off of three garlic heads.
Season corn and garlic with olive oil, salt and pepper.
After 25 minutes, add them to the baking sheet with the potatoes. Bake for an additional 15 minutes.
Then, cut up the sausage or kielbasa and add to the sheet and continue baking for another 10 minutes.
Mix together melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice and Old Bay Seasoning. Set aside.
Frozen shrimp that is deveined, cooked and peeled is a huge time saver. You can begin thawing them to speed up the baking process.
Remove the baking sheet from the oven and spread the shrimp over the top of the other ingredients.
Then pour over the butter mixture and finish baking until the shrimp are finished cooking.
Cooked in an hour and a half or less!
All of the flavors that are needed on one sheet pan full of potatoes, garlic, butter, lemon, seasoning, corn, sausage, and shrimp. YES, Please!!
Doesn’t that sound like the best idea for dinner? Or even serve at a holiday gathering?
A winning new favorite to add to your menu.
Sheet Pan Cajun Shrimp
Equipment
- 1 oven
- 1 sheet pan with sides
- foil or parchment paper
- cutting board
- chef's knife
- measuring spoons
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb baby or Yukon potatoes, halved
- 1 t salt
- 1 t ground pepper
- 2 T olive oil
- 1 stick butter, melted feel free to use 1/2 stick to reduce fat
- 2 T Old Bay seasoning
- 1 lb kielbasa or chicken sausage, sliced into 1" slices
- 2 lb medium shrimp, deveined and peeled
- 4-6 ears corn
- 3 heads garlic, tops sliced off to expose cloves
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 medium lemons- one juiced; one cut into wedges or half slices
Instructions
- Juice one lemon and set juice aside. Slice the other lemon into wedges or half slices.
- Preheat the oven to 425°.
- Line a cookie sheet with sides with parchment paper (or foil).
- Cut potatoes in half.
- In a bowl, add 1 T olive oil and potatoes and 1/2 t salt and 1/2 t pepper. Mix well to coat.TIP: I use olive oil in a sprayer to coat evenly.
- Add potatoes to the cookie sheet in an even layer and bake for about 25 minutes until the potatoes begin to brown. I turned then with cut edges down to brown them.
- Cut tops off of three garlic heads.
- While potatoes are baking, cut corn in small wedges. Add corn and garlic heads to the mixing bowl with another T olive oil and 1/2 t salt and 1/2 t pepper. Mix to coat.
- Add them to the sheet with the potatoes. Roast for another 15 minutes in the oven.
- Cut kielbasa or sausage into slices.
- In a small bowl, stir together the minced garlic, lemon juice, melted butter and Old Bay.
- Remove the sheet pan from the oven and top with the kielbasa or sausage. Add back to the oven and roast for another 10 minutes.
- Remove pan from oven and spread shrimp evenly over pan. TIP: Time saving to buy shrimp already cooked, deveined and peeled. If frozen, thaw slightly to save cooking time.
- Drizzle with the butter mixture and roast in the oven until the shrimp are no longer pink if you are using uncooked shrimp, or hot if using frozen shrimp. About 5 to 10 minutes.
- To evenly coat all of the butter mixture, scoop sheet pan contents into a large serving dish or Dutch oven and then carefully lift the remaining juices up in parchment paper and pour over all of the cajun shrimp mixture. Stir to coat everything.
- Serve immediately with fresh lemon wedges. Don't forget to squeeze out the garlic goodness and add to toasted french bread!
Notes
Serving this Cajun Shrimp…
When finished baking, add the ingredients to a large serving bowl or Dutch oven. Carefully lift the parchment paper and pour remaining juices back over the ingredients in the serving container. Stir and then serve with fresh lemon wedges or half slices.
Perfect. Every. Time.
One more addition…
Since those garlic bulbs come out roasted beautifully, enjoy their creamy goodness by serving with toasted French bread slices.
YUM!
TIPS for making this Cajun Shrimp recipe even easier…
- Buy a bag of frozen corn cobs cut in half and defrost slightly before baking. Saves time from having to husk/cut corn.
- Buy frozen shrimp that has already been cooked, peeled and deveined. Huge time saver!
- If you are having a large gathering…make the quantity of recipes ahead and add to a crock pot to keep warm until guests arrive. I love ideas that help me have the food ready when guests arrive…even if they are late!
