A Great Appetizer for Fall- Mango Cheese Dip
Last fall we attended a birthday party. It was a wonderful outdoor event full of music, laughter, conversation and the best food. Among those foods was the best cheese dip ever. I couldn’t wait to have the recipe to make and enjoy with feet under my table. From a local charity league cookbook decades old, came this recipe for a mango chutney cheese dip. I shared it on the Vue magazine where you can click to find it here.
But, sharing it here with you is a delight! It’s the season for appetizers and dips are the best offering among a charcuterie tray, on the table for an outdoor event, or on a tray by the fireplace.
Fall Mango Cheese Dip
Most of you will have all of the ingredients to create this except for perhaps the mango chutney. I remember when I was early married that Major Grey’s Chutney was added to some of our favorite recipes. But, I hadn’t thought of a chutney in a very long time.
Often that’s the hard part of trying to recreate old recipes when the ingredients can’t be found or you have to be careful because serving sizes have changed. You may have experienced that, too!
If your Thanksgivings are like mine, often people arrive early and hungry. This is the perfect cheese dip to have ready with raw veggies or crackers to make people happy until the meal is served.
Does that happen to you, too?
Cheese dips just make the perfect appetizer.
Perhaps it’s the protein in cheese that helps curb the appetite. But for me with this one? It’s the pure delight that this one brings.
Just a note, if you have guests who don’t love curry, replace with another seasoning of your choice. For my family, the curry stays!
I promise it won’t last long!
