Saturday Sidelines- Sharing Favorite Things

Welcome to this week’s Saturday Sidelines where I’m sharing my favorite finds and things on the internet this week.

I’m so glad you’ve joined me today. With Mother’s Day this weekend, I hope you have plans and gifts readied to celebrate your Mom or those who have been like Moms to you.

In May’s issue in the VUE magazine, I shared a story about those in my life who have been like Moms to me. Click here to read the article in the magazine online.

I’m sharing two more recipes in the VUE magazine for May’s edition, available online or priceless in local news stands here.

Lemon Balm Cookies

If you have lemon balm planted, this is a perfect recipe. If not, the recipe gives instructions on how to substitute the ingredients. Click on the title for the recipe found in the magazine.

If you joined me on Tuesday, I shared this sweet little DIY decoupage of clay pots that I have tucked into wreaths and filled with herbs for an upcoming wedding brunch for my sister.

Now for more favorite things found. First, DIY projects.

Speaking of tiny pots, these made into napkin rings are so cute. She had me at the bird’s nest. My friend Wendy at WM Design House is so creative!

My version of these may have to happen for a screened porch summer gathering.

Do you have glass luncheon plates in your pantry or dish cabinet from generations who used them before us? Aunt Helen left me LOTS of these. My friend Missy from Sonata Home Design has created the most beautiful way to reinvent and use them. Click here to see how she created these.

Aren’t they stunning? Mine are calling me from my buffet! I love her story about creating them, too.

Favorite finds for books.

If you need a few new book recommendations, my friend, Kim at Cottage in the Mitten has a new booklist out of her favorites. Check our her list here.

Gift Ideas

I don’t know about you, but we are having lots of graduations with gifts to find here. Gift cards and creativity is always welcome. Here are a few ideas for consideration with those you need to celebrate.

Tips for the Garden

It’s time to begin a cut flower garden if you haven’t already begun. I love all of Jennifer at Cottage on Bunker Hill’s tips. Click here to read more.

Have you heard of garden rooms? My friend, Crystal from Sweet Valley Acres shares the best inspiration for garden spaces and rooms here. You may want to create garden rooms, too, after you read it.

Speaking of gardens, one of my favorite places to tour is P. Allen Smith’s Moss Mountain Home. If you are close to Little Rock, Arkansas, check out the dates and tours here. He shares his home, gardens, and lunch with visitors throughout the year. Visits there are etched into my memories.

And…if you need more inspiration for a Mother’s Day Brunch? I’m your new best friend.

May you have the best Mother’s Day Celebrations this weekend, friends!
